Anzhan — Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Anzhan handles information related to you. We do not operate our own account system, and we do not integrate third-party advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs. Online play is provided through Apple Game Center and local-area networking on your device.
1. What information we collect
Anzhan itself does not upload personal information to the developer's server. Information that may be involved falls into three categories: on-device storage, transmission via Apple services, and transmission only between devices in the same match.
1.1 On-device storage (stays on device by default)
| Information | Purpose | Storage |
|---|---|---|
| Settings (language, sound, haptics, board theme, etc.) | Remembering preferences | System UserDefaults |
| Custom board images & videos | Customizing appearance | App sandbox |
| Match history (opponent display name, mode, rank, rating change, time, etc.) | Reviewing match history | App Application Support |
| Online rating cache (one file per Game Center player identifier) | Displaying tier and rating | App Application Support |
| Pending / completed Game Center achievement records | Reporting achievements after sign-in to avoid duplicate banners | System UserDefaults |
Custom board assets are imported by you through the photo or file picker and are used for on-device display only. They are not uploaded.
The Core ML strategy model used for single-player matches runs inference locally on the device. Match data is therefore not sent to the cloud for this reason.
1.2 Game Center (after you sign in)
If you use global matchmaking, leaderboards, achievements, or online rating, the app authenticates via Apple Game Center and uses:
- Game Center player identifier (
gamePlayerID): distinguishing accounts, caching the local rating profile. - Game Center display name (
displayName): the player name shown in matches. - Game Center player photo: shown in the global-matchmaking lobby. It is provided by Apple through Game Center and rendered locally only. When unavailable or failing to load, a seat-coloured single character is used instead. The in-match board UI does not display real-person photos.
- Match results and rating: reported to the leaderboards
anzhan.rating(all-time) andanzhan.rating.season(current season). - Achievement progress: achieved achievement identifiers (e.g. Resonance, First Place in Global Matchmaking) are reported to Apple. The app does not present a separate achievements list; you can view them in Game Center. Before sign-in, achievements are stored locally and synced to Apple after sign-in.
This information is processed by Apple under the Game Center policy. We cannot additionally store your Game Center account or password on our own server because this app has no server of its own.
You can still play single-player, AI, and local-network matches without signing in to Game Center.
1.3 Online match data
Game Center matchmaking: during a match, game state, actions, and in-match chat are synced between players through Apple's Game Center match channel. State sent to other players hides information they should not see, such as other players' true hand-card types, unrevealed piece types, and other players' pool contents.
Local-network matches (Multipeer / Bonjour): when discovering nearby rooms, the device uses its device name as the room display name and advertises / connects via the local network services _anzhan-game._tcp and _anzhan-lobby._tcp. Match data is transmitted between devices on the same local network and does not pass through our server. The system will request local-network permission for this.
In-match chat: text you send is synced to other players in the same match and used only for that match. It is not written to a developer server, nor kept as long-term profile data. Your on-device match history does not retain the full chat text.
1.4 Feedback
Content you submit via "Feedback" is sent via the system mail app to SoRichOne@icloud.com. The email body is composed by you; we only see it once you actively send it. Please do not include unnecessary personal sensitive information in feedback.
2. Analytics & diagnostics
This app does not integrate Firebase, Crashlytics, Sentry, or any other third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK. It does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not perform cross-app tracking.
On-device runtime logs use the system OSLog facility, stay on the device by default, and are used for development and debugging. The app does not actively package and upload them.
If you allow sharing analytics with the developer in system settings, Apple may provide us with crash reports or anonymous diagnostic information, used only for fixing issues and improving stability. We do not use such information for advertising or user profiling.
3. How we use information
Used only for:
- Providing single-player, AI, local-network, and Game Center matches.
- Displaying player name, lobby photo, tier, rating, and leaderboards, and syncing achievements to Game Center.
- Syncing the current match state and chat.
- Remembering settings, board appearance, and on-device match history.
- Handling feedback you actively send.
- With your consent, using Apple diagnostics to fix issues.
We do not sell personal information, do not use information for targeted advertising, and do not share information with advertising networks.
4. Sharing & third parties
| Recipient | Scenario | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Game Center | Sign-in, matchmaking, leaderboards, achievements, online match sync | Subject to Apple's privacy policy |
| Other players in the same match | Online matches and in-match chat | Only the game data needed for the match and the text you send |
| Devices on the same local network | LAN room discovery and matches | Includes device name and match data |
| Anzhan developer mailbox | Feedback you actively send | Limited to the content of your email |
Apart from the above and what is required by law, we do not provide your personal information to other companies.
5. Retention & deletion
- On-device data: after uninstalling the app, settings, match history, rating cache, and custom board assets are removed with the sandbox. You can also clear the custom video cache from settings.
- Game Center data: leaderboard scores, achievement records, player identifiers, and display names are managed by Apple. You can sign out in "Settings → Game Center" or manage your account via Apple's processes. The lobby photo is requested by your device from Apple and displayed in memory only; it is discarded after the match and not written to long-term storage.
- In-match chat and match sync data: after a match ends, the app no longer sends it to other devices; the local device does not retain chat history.
- Feedback emails: retained for a reasonable period for handling user correspondence, and may be deleted afterwards.
We do not operate our own cloud user database, so we cannot offer a "one-click delete cloud account" button. For deletion or correction related to Game Center, please use your Apple account and Game Center settings.
6. Children & minors
This app is not specifically designed for children. We do not actively collect children's personal information, and we do not provide a social account system aimed at children. If you are a minor, please use Game Center and online features under the guidance of a guardian. If a guardian believes we hold information about a child via feedback email, they may contact us at the email below to request deletion.
7. Permissions
| System permission / capability | When | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Local network | LAN rooms | Discover nearby players and transmit match data |
| Game Center | Global matchmaking / leaderboards / achievements | Authentication, matchmaking, rating & achievement sync; reading lobby photo |
| Photo / file picker | Custom board | Reads only the image or video you select, stored on device |
Denying local network or Game Center does not affect single-player or AI matches. If you decline importing custom assets, built-in board themes are used. The Game Center lobby photo in global matchmaking does not go through the system Photos permission and is unrelated to custom board assets.
8. Your choices
- Do not sign in to Game Center: use only single-player, AI, and LAN modes.
- Disable local-network permission: do not use LAN rooms.
- Do not import from Photos / files: do not use custom boards.
- Uninstall the app: clear on-device settings, history, and assets.
- Disable "Share with App Developer" in system settings: reduce the diagnostic information Apple shares with us.
9. Policy changes
If our practices change materially (for example, adding a server of our own, an analytics SDK, or advertising), we will update this policy and revise the effective date. Continued use of the app indicates that you are aware of the updated description; if you do not agree, please stop using and uninstall the app.
